Matthew Koren serves as the Partnership Manager for Conscious Capitalism Portland. He met with Amy Powell back when she co-founded the chapter with Jody Foster and Kymm Nelsen in 2017 in support of their project, but he was just about to move abroad to South America for an 18-month assignment. When he got back to Portland in 2019 he tried to mind his own business, but just couldn’t resist the mission of Conscious Capitalism and the Portland chapter. Re-envisioning how businesses are structured to serve and uplift humanity is not a hard sell. So in the Summer of 2019, just a few blocks up on Mississippi Ave from where he originally met Amy two years prior, he agreed to join the leadership team as Partnerships Manager.
Matthew brings over 12 years of talent strategy and leadership development experience to the chapter. He is an advisor, consultant and coach to executives of large enterprises and small businesses alike. His expertise in aligning business strategy with talent strategy informs his practice of building highly engaged teams that effect better together.
He has served executives of Fortune 1000 teams, such as Wells Fargo, LinkedIn, Kaplan University and Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT). His approach assimilates the latest research in consciousness studies, psychology, business, organizational development, mindfulness, and quantum resonance theory. He holds a B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in cross-cultural communication from Reed College in Portland, OR, and a certificate in International Business from the University of International Relations from when he studied Mandarin in China.
Matthew’s key strengths lie in strategically arranging resources to align with the organization’s strategy to achieve desired results and effect the larger mission of the business. His process allows clients to create clarity of purpose, confidence in their process, and access to their team’s collective intelligence. He has demonstrated results working globally, mostly in the Education (Ed tech), Finance (Fin Tech), Automotive, Health, Hospitality and Tourism industries.
Matthew also serves as a spiritual guide for his personal clients at Spirit in Transition. His professional work and philanthropy focuses on the cultivation of personal empowerment and community solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. His affiliations include: Portland Area Business Association (PABA), National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), Conscious Capitalism, and The Modern Mystery School.
